Vorozhnoy kimar
Work in progress, the sequel to the project «To be a cry at 5:00 AM at local time»
Roosters go through the REM sleep stage, which means they are dreaming. In this artistic field study, I focus on pointing out «raspetukh» in pomor culture and «petukh» in russian prison culture. In search of connections, I made a «vorozhnoy kimar*», a rooster's dream, in which he remembers mentions in these two communities. Despite the prevailing artistic part of this work, there is a place for archival and expedition information, quotes from anthropologists, interviews and personal reflections around the topic of male love and sexuality in Pomorland.
